I Phuket
April, 2017

Sometimes my friends think I’m crazy. Hopping on a plane with the whole family for just 2 days? Yup, my husband and I try our best to squeeze in these short trips whenever we can and I do realize how blessed we are to have the priviledge of even doing so. With his crazy schedule, he hardly gets to spend quality time with the kids and these beach getaways ( albeit short) allow him to really rest, relax and bond with the family.

It was our first time at Aleenta Resort and Spa and we absolutely loved it. A mere 20 minutes or so from the airport, we stayed at the grand Villa Satis. A 4 bedroom house with the beach as our own backyard, we were in pure heaven! The moment we arrived, the kids ran in screaming, “this is amazing mommy and daddy!!!” I knew then it was going to be a fabulous weekend. It was spacious and airy with sunlight streaming into the main living area from all corners – just the way we like it. Plus, we also had the most amazing sunset view of the Andaman Sea – I mean, what more can one ask for?

Despite only having 2 in- house restaurants, we didn’t care. We didn’t feel the need to leave the resort at all during the day until the kids were nicely tucked into bed before venturing out for yummy Thai food at neighboring hotels, The Renaissance and The Marriot. We would have been more adventurous but we didn’t really feel like spending so much time on the road as we were only in Phuket for 2 nights.

Would I go back? In a heartbeat. Phuket will always be one of my favorite South East Asia weekend getaway destinations with the family. It’s a Short 1 hour flight away from Kuala Lumpur, the food is beyond good, the beaches are beautiful and the people are warm and welcoming. I really do heart Phuket.
